Our Approach

01

Not the Kyoto you know. A Kyoto you have yet to know.

We serve only teas and drinks made in Kyoto, or with roots here, wherever we possibly can. We choose by a sense of place and the maker’s intention rather than the fame of a label, and the menu shifts with Kyoto’s four seasons.

02

Not simply a drink. A cup that carries a story.

Rather than lining up bottles and tea leaves, our tea sommelier tells each party, in their own words, why this cup, and what story of Kyoto lies behind it.

Tea by day ― Uji tea brewed by our tea sommelier

Tea by Day

Uji teas chosen by our tea sommelier, brewed one cup at a time at the temperature and steeping each leaf asks for. An afternoon cup draws you, quietly, into a depth of Kyoto you have not yet seen.

Sake by night ― Kyoto craft gin and sake

Drinks by Night

By night: Kyoto craft gin, sake, wine, craft beer. Only labels that make you think, “I had no idea Kyoto had makers like this.”
At the end of the day, another Kyoto.

Non-alcoholic ― mocktails of Kyoto ingredients

Non-Alcoholic

The taste of Kyoto, for those who prefer not to drink. House-made mocktails built on Uji tea and hojicha, or a glass pairing seasonal fruit with Japanese ingredients, composed to suit the mood of your day. In every cup, a season of Kyoto.

Light bites ― Kyoto sweets and small dishes

Light Bites

Even a small appetite meets Kyoto here. By day, Kyoto sweets to accompany tea; by night, small plates to sit alongside a drink. Each bite carries the maker’s intention — a small encounter with Kyoto.
